Ms Lithgow stated that the greyhound is returning after a left back muscle injury.  Ms. Lithgow also declared a new weight of 34.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Thor's Quest last raced at 32.7kg.

Mr. Jarrod Fry, representative of Podium Sensation, declared a new weight of 33.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Podium Sensation last raced at 35.0kg.

Suzy Nitro was a late scratching at 10:37AM due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Brian Sonneman was fined the sum of $100.

Grooven Chris was quick to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start.

Hide The Wallet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping approaching the winning post, and a spike wound to the right paw. A three-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Martin Galea, the kennel representative for Hide The Wallet. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
