A pre-race sample was taken from Bronelly Buster.
Sunset Believer, Dr. Gammiris and Cruella Deville were slow to begin. Select Danger, Cookie Rose, Lilty Allen, Bronelly Buster and Penny Lane Keats collided on the first turn checking Cookie Rose, Lilty Allen, Dr. Gammiris and Penny Lane Keats causing Penny Lane Keats to fall. Dr. Gammiris was checked off Cookie Rose approaching the second turn. Cookie Rose and Sunset Believer collided on the second turn checking Sunset Believer. Dr. Gammiris was checked off Cookie Rose approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight.
Penny Lane Keats was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained concussion, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory trial (GAR 77A):-
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Bailey the trainer of Lady Scrumptious regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Lady Scrumptious last raced on 19/05/17. Mr. Bailey stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A Lady Scrumptious trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.27 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths. Lady Scrumptious was cleared.
