Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Northway the trainer of Arctic Iggy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Arctic Iggy last raced on 01/08/17. Ms. Northway stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right wrist injury. Ms. S. Northway declared a new weight of 32.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Arctic Iggy last raced at 33.4kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Hurricane Craig.
Arctic Iggy and Emilia Mel were slow to begin. Hurricane Craig and Iggy Wiggy collided approaching the first turn. Dr. Shreds was checked off Invictus Storm approaching the first turn. Emilia Mel was checked off Dr. Shreds on the first turn. Arctic Iggy, Valkyrie Rose, Sazana and Dr. Shreds collided on the first turn checking Arctic Iggy and Valkyrie Rose and severely checking Sazana and Dr. Shreds. Valkyrie Rose galloped on Arctic Iggy on the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Arctic Iggy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained and injured left monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
