Steward's Report
Slick Maggie was a late scratching at 6.03pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. J. Carrodus-Nagy was fined the sum of $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Meteor Thunder.
Dr. Sherlock was quick to begin. Diamond was slow to begin. Lakeview Maisey was checked off Dr. Sherlock soon after the start. Dr. Leonardo and Diamond collided on the first turn. Meteor Thunder faltered approaching the second turn and lost ground. Laurentide Ice eased on the third turn and collided with Dr. Sherlock checking Diamond. Diamond galloped on Dr. Leonardo approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Dr. Leonardo eased on the home turn. Dr. Leonardo marred Laurentide Ice approaching the winning post.
Meteor Thunder was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an inured right back muscle and right triangle muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Minnie the representative for Laurentide Ice regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the third turn. Laurentide Ice was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle and right pencil muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Laurentide Ice with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Minnie pleaded guilty to the charge, Laurentide Ice was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
