Zipping Bob was slow to begin.  Our Aqua Blue and Slingshot Jayla collided approaching the first turn.  Invictus Helena crossed in on the first turn checking Our Aqua Blue and Slingshot Jayla.  Zipping Bob raced wide on the first turn.  Slingshot Jayla clipped the heels of Our Aqua Blue in the home straight.  Our Aqua Blue marred Invictus Helena in the home straight and collided with Need A Zac.

Our Aqua Blue was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Prazza the representative of Our Aqua Blue regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Our Aqua Blue with marring.  Mr. Prazza pleaded guilty to the charge, Our Aqua Blue was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Northway the trainer of Arctic Iggy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Arctic Iggy last raced on 01/08/17.  Ms. Northway stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right wrist injury.  Ms. S. Northway declared a new weight of 32.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Arctic Iggy last raced at 33.4kg.

Lisa Marie and Jameka Gold were quick to begin.  Love To Dream was slow to begin.  Go Wilma Go and Able Bess collided soon after the start.  It's Her Fate was checked off Jameka Gold on the first turn.  Go Wilma Go galloped on Ruby Two Shoes on the first turn severely checking Ruby Two Shoes and checking Go Wilma Go.  It's Her Fate and Jameka Gold collided approaching the home turn.

Mallee Spring and Dr. Yanma were slow to begin.  Early Spring, Wild Angel, Secret Business, Dr. Yanma and King Kai collided on the first turn checking Secret Business and King Kai and severely checking Wild Angel and Dr. Yanma, causing Dr. Yanma to fall.  Secret Business galloped on King Kai entering the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Secret Business galloped on Jasocate in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Dr. Yanma was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

This afternoon, a GRV Steward and Veterinary Surgeon attended the training property of Ms Renea New of Wendouree after Sudoku Flash was withdrawn from this event, due to injury.  Upon examination of Sudoku Flash, Dr Nicholas Evans reported some swelling and pain response to the right monkey muscle and some further general stiffness of the neck, which were consistent with the reasons submitted by connections when applying to have Sudoku Flash withdrawn from this event, under GAR 23. No further action was required or taken at this time. 

Mr. R. Clark was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Lunar Shadow pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Bailey the trainer of Lady Scrumptious regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Lady Scrumptious last raced on 19/05/17.    Mr. Bailey stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Lady Scrumptious trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.27 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths.  Lady Scrumptious was cleared.
