MEETING COMMENTS:

During kennelling the Stewards inspected the track for a second time after a heavy downpour, the track was rated good and safe for racing.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ebby Ripper upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ring The Bell upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre-race sample was taken from Destroyer upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Inequity, Ring The Bell, Petunia Monelli and Destroyer were quick to begin.  Ebby Ripper and Hit The Highway were slow to begin.

Dusty Gambler was slow into stride.  Ring The Bell checked off Petunia Monelli on the second turn.  Petunia Monelli and Hit The Highway collided on the home turn.

Dusty Gambler was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right deltoid injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

The race vision was only partially available to view due to an operational error.

Effective Comet and Alpha Georgiou collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Bewildering checked off Alpha Georgiou on the first turn.  Alpha Georgiou checked off Effective Comet on the first turn checking Bewildering.  Quick Jagger checked off Baby Huey on the first turn.  Jimmy Newob checked off Baby Huey on the first turn and collided with Vens Revenge.  Effective Comet and Bewildering collided on the second turn.  Effective Comet, Baby Huey and Alpha Georgiou collided on the third turn.  Vens Revenge veered out and marred Jimmy Newob approaching the home turn.  Alpha Georgiou galloped on Effective Comet approaching the home turn.  Vens Revenge eased on the home turn.  Effective Comet and Quick Jagger collided on the home turn.  Effective Comet checked off Quick Jagger on the home turn.  Vens Revenge veered out and marred Jimmy Newob in the home straight.  

Vens Revenge was vetted and re-vetted following event 7.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Clarke, the trainer of the greyhound Vens Revenge regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Vens Revenge with marring. Mr Clarke pleaded guilty to the charge, Vens Revenge was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ando's Mac and Up Hill Jill were quick to begin.  Blue Gum Hill was slow to begin.

Manifold, Invictus Rapid, West On Hawkeye and Jesaulenko collided soon after the start.  Ando's Mac and Up Hill Jill collided on the first turn.  West On Hawkeye and Blue Gum Hill collided on the first turn.  Ando's Mac checked off Up Hill Jill on the second turn.

Trainer Mr A. Azzopardi was spoken with after he was heard to be whistling shortly after boxing Ando's Mac.  The stewards issued Mr Azzopardi a warning pursuant to GAR 51(10)(b) in that no person can/shall attract the attention of a greyhound in the boxes, once boxing is complete. Mr Azzopardi apologised for the occurrence and advised that it was certainly not his intention to do this but rather a personality trait he has.

Sharp Diamond was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to over the left hind digit and over the right front wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
