Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Bruce Jacobs, the trainer of Dark Tantra, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dark Tantra last raced on 29 March 2017 and is returning after a right hind leg injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Dark Tantra.
Tom's Gift and Dark Tantra collided soon after the start, checking Tom's Gift. Where's Savannah and Tom's Gift collided approaching the first turn, checking Where's Savannah. Smashing Wild and Rocket Riley collided approaching the first turn, checking Rocket Riley. Rocket Riley and Dark Tantra collided on the first turn, checking Dark Tantra.
Where's Savannah was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury and an injury to the left sesamoid. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Julian regarding the direction that the greyhound Tom's Gift be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
