Awesome Kate and Kouta And Cream were quick to begin. How's It Thunder went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin (3L).

How's It Thunder galloped on the heels of Awesome Kate approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Awesome Kate was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right latissimus dorsi-trapezius muscle. A five-day  stand down period was imposed.

Subscapularis was slow to begin.

Little Loony, Norendal, Mr. Delahoya, Mat's Road and Subscapularis collided approaching the first turn, checking Don's Gas, Norendal and Exford Oak, severely checking Mat's Road and Subscapularis, and Mr. Delahoya which fell as a result.

Mr. Delahoya was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a thoraco-lumbar injury and abrasions to the feet. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Exford Oak was vetted and after being re-vetted following event nine, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a lumbo-sacral injury. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Samples were taken from Little Loony, the winner of the event, and Mr. Delahoya, unplaced.

Ancarian Lancer was a late scratching at 9:03am due to injury (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Miss Dangerwood, Cawbourne Lambo and Galo's Beauty were quick to begin. Crackerjack Mick, Mahlo Miracle and Levator Scapulae were slow to begin. Riverdale Cocky stumbled at the start and lost ground (4L).

Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Chivell, the trainer of Tribal Fusion, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tribal Fusion last raced on 30 March 2017 and is returning after a change of kennels.

Geopark Ruby was quick to begin. Crackerjack Jim and Tribal Fusion were slow to begin.

Argus Filch and Bomber's Baby collided soon after the start, checking Bomber's Baby. Fairly Legal and Bomber's Baby collided approaching the first turn, checking Bomber's Baby. Amari and Sidevalve were slow to begin.

Fastnet Kahn faltered approaching the first turn and failed to finish. Amari and Any Other Union collided on the first turn.

Fastnet Kahn was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both gracilis (back) muscles. A 60-day stand down period was imposed.

Rex On was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to Mr Bruce Jacobs, the trainer of Dark Tantra, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dark Tantra last raced on 29 March 2017 and is returning after a right hind leg injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Julian regarding the direction that the greyhound Tom's Gift be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Flaming Causeway and Ben's Talon were quick to begin and collided on the first turn, checking Flaming Causeway.

Stewards spoke to handler Ms Margaret Brealey regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Possibly. Stewards issued a warning against Possibly's boxing manners and Ms M Brealey advised that when starting from box 8 in future events she would look to delegate the handling responsibilities.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr James Stavropoulos, the trainer of Unique Shirley, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Unique Shirley last raced on 22 December 2016. Mr Stavropoulos stated that the greyhound had it's tonsils removed and been seasonal. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Unique Shirley trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 23.00, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5L. Unique Shirley was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Maximum Babe trialled over the 400m from box eight, weight 28.6kg, the greyhound was placed furst in a field of four. The time of the trial was 23.00, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.75L. Maximum Babe was cleared.
