Steward's Report
Dyna Jacinta was quick to begin. Mr. Moonlight was slow to begin. Tunisian checked off Dyna Jacinta approaching the first turn. Tunisian, Dyna Jacinta and Henley Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Tunisian and Henley Bale. Henley Bale, Revel and Mr. Moonlight collided approaching the first turn checking Henley Bale. Tunisian eased on the third turn and collided with Dyna Jacinta severely checking both greyhounds.
Tunisian was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right thigh and right pencil and spike wounds to the right hind leg and pad, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P Clark, the trainer of the greyhound Tunisian regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Tunisian with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Clark pleaded guilty to the charge, Tunisian was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at the Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
