Powerful Senor and Miss Houdini collided soon after the start. Mystic Powers, Powerful Senor and Miss Houdini collided approaching the first turn. Miss Houdini checked off Will Dazzle on the first turn. Horey's Girl checked off Sorry Maurie entering the home straight. Horey's Girl raced wide in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Avatar Sparkle trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 26.2kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.70, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.25L. Avatar Sparkle was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Stephen Chircop, the trainer of Smashing Wild, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Smashing Wild last raced on 2 December 2016. Mr Chircop stated that Smashing Wild had sustained a pencil muscle injury and been seasonal. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Smashing Wild trialled over the 390m from box three, weight 29.7kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.70, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6L. Smashing Wild was cleared.

Mr Keel stated that Larico had sustained a left hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Larico trialled over the 390m from box five, weight 30.0kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.70, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75L. Larico was cleared.
