Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Niele, the trainer of My Mate Wally, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. My Mate Wally last raced on 14 May 2017 and is returning after a spell and a change of kennels.
A pre-race sample was taken from Cosmic Tool.
Gold Rush Dozer and Remembering Dad collided soon after the start. Gold Rush Dozer and Longshot Glory collided at the 250m mark. My Mate Wally and Bernmar Caviar collided several times from the 200m mark to the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds. Cosmic Tool and Gold Rush Dozer collided at the 200m mark. Bernmar Caviar checked off My Mate Wally at the 50m mark.
