Steward's Report
Sly Shiraz was slow to begin.
Sly Shiraz and Igor Karkaroff collided approaching the first turn checking Sly Shiraz. Igor Karkaroff and Dundee Calypso collided on the first turn checking Dundee Calypso. Dundee Calypso and Hit The Highway collided in the front straight. Polijuice Potion and Igor Karkaroff collided several times from the second turn to the third turn checking Sly Shiraz, Hit The Highway and severely checking Polijuice Potion and Igor Karkaroff. Hit The Highway checked off Dundee Calypso in the home straight.
Igor Karkaroff was vetted following the event. it was reported that the greyhound sustained left whip muscle soreness and left saddle muscle soreness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from She's Got Grace - winner of the event.
Stewards charged Mrs Carole Brinsley with a breach of GAR 86(o) after she negligently failed to catch Kachina Allen in this event. Mrs Brinsley pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $100. In considering the penalty stewards took into account Mrs Brinsley previous history, noting that she had not offended under this rule in the past 24 months.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Exhibition Trial: - Kong trialled over the 515mtrs from box 3, weight 39.5kgs. The time of the trial was 1st split (5.14), 2nd split (19.03) and overall time was (29.707).
