Steward's Report
Go Go Guru was slow to begin. In Dee Genes and Mighty Bree collided soon after the start. Galaxy Star and Mac Molly collided soon after the start. Mac Molly and Select Opal collided soon after the start. In Dee Genes checked off Mighty Bree approaching the first turn. Rainbow Ruby crossed to the rail on the first turn. Galaxy Star and Mighty Bree collided on the second turn checking Mighty Bree, Go Go Guru, Select Opal and In Dee Genes. Go Go Guru, Select Opal and In Dee Genes collided on the third turn checking Select Opal and In Dee Genes. Select Opal and In Dee Genes collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Mac Molly and In Dee Genes collided in the home straight checking Mac Molly.
Mac Molly was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right triangle muscle and both saddle muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Rainbow Ruby, the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Riley, the handler of Mac Molly regarding the greyhound performing below market expectations. Mr. Riley stated that Mac Molly is best suited when racing in a forward position which was in contrast to tonights race as the greyhound suffered interference early and was forced to race towards the rear of the field. Stewards noted Mr. Riley's comments and directed a sample be taken from Mac Molly.
