Steward's Report
Harajuka Lass – Late scratching at 6.36pm on the advice of the On– Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a cough/wheeze. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre–race sample was taken from No Right Turns.
Joey Two Times and Mala Angel were quick to begin. No Right Turns and Bonnie Brann were slow to begin.
Bonnie Brann (severely checked on the turn off the back straight), underwent a post-race veterinary examintion. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have a spike wound to the right fore. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Xisco Bale (marred Joey Two Times approaching the finishing line), underwent a post-race veterinary examination. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have minor abrasions to the right metatarsal. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative - Mr. Jake Loverso regarding the racing manners of Xisco Bale approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Xisco Bale was charged with marring. Mr. Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge. Xisco Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
It was noted that the muzzle on No Right Turns was partially dislodged during the running of the event.
