Lila Bale was slow to begin. My Girl Lava crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Dr. Mortikye, Lila Bale and Xtreme Notice. Lila Bale and My Girl Lava collided on the first turn checking Lila Bale. Ben Nevis, Xtreme Notice and Slingshot Sambo collided on the first turn checking Xtreme Notice, Diamond Ruby and My Girl Lava, severely checking Slingshot Sambo which stumbled and lost ground as a result. Immen Bale and Dr. Mortikye collided on the first turn. Ben Nevis and Dr. Mortikye collided on the second turn checking Ben Nevis. Xtreme Notice checked off My Girl Lava on the second turn. Ben Nevis and Diamond Ruby collided in the back straight. Ben Nevis and My Girl Lava collided approaching the winning post.
Slingshot Sambo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right saddle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
