Steward's Report
Nareen was quick to begin.
Nareen and Big Butterbean collided soon after the start. My Girl Lois checked off Gestalt Allen soon after the start. Nareen checked off Gestalt Allen approaching the first turn severely checking Nareen and Big Butterbean which severely checked Woodleigh Guy. Santana checked off Woodleigh approaching the first turn. Nareen and My Girl Lois collided approaching the first turn checking Nareen. Nareen and Santana collided on the third turn checking Santana. Nareen and My Girl Lois collided approaching the winning post. Big Butterbean eased approaching the home turn and tailed off.
Stewards spoke to Mr G. Bartlett, the trainer of the greyhound Big Butterbean regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Big Butterbean was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left triangle and abrasion to the left stopper, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Big Butterbean with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Bartlett pleaded guilty to the charge, Big Butterbean was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
