Like Lily and Blackhawk Dee were slow to begin. Static Charge and Burch Day collided soon after the start. Watch Me Wyn and Rosanna collided soon after the start checking Rosanna and Take The Rapid. Allen Don and Static Charge collided approaching the first turn checking Static Charge. Rosanna checked off Take The Rapid on the first turn. Blackhawk Dee checked off Static Charge on the second turn and lost ground. Watch Me Wyn and Take The Rapid collided on the home turn. Rosanna and Burch Day collided on the home turn. Watch Me Wyn eased entering the home straight and collided with Take The Rapid, checking Take The Rapid, Like Lily and Allen Don. Watch Me Wyn, Rosanna, Like Lily and Take The Rapid collided in the home straight checking Watch Me Wyn, Rosanna and Take The Rapid.

Stewards spoke to Mr Ashley Welsh handler of the greyhound Watch Me Wyn regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Watch Me Wyn was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left thigh, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Watch Me Wyn with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Welsh pleaded guilty to the charge, Watch Me Wyn was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
