Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Harry's Hammer.
Greysynd Ebony was very slow to begin (4L). Daintree Lilli and Jaygee Sprinter collided on the first turn checking Jaygee Sprinter. Dee Blue Flame checked off Zoenah's Legacy approaching the home turn. Daintree Lilli and Harry's Hammer collided approaching the home turn severely checking Harry's Hammer and Greysynd Ebony. Dee Blue Flame eased on the home turn and collided with Jaygee Sprinter and Harry's Hammer checking all three greyhounds.
Harry's Hammer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left front foot. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Chilcott, the trainer of the greyhound Dee Blue Flame regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Dee Blue Flame was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and a right hock sprain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dee Blue Flame with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, Dee Blue Flame was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
