Stewards spoke to Ms A Panetta, the handler of King Fipa regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. King Fipa last raced on 13/4/2017. Ms Panetta stated that King Fipa is returning to racing from a right hock injury.

Greenback Boogie, Meteor Thunder and Calabasas collided approaching the first turn. Calabasas and Lucky Brew collided on the first turn checking Calabasas. Barry Bomber checked off the heels of Lucky Brew on the first turn. King Fipa, Greenback Boogie and Prince Cheviot collided on the home turn.
