Stewards spoke to A Karabitsakos, the trainer of Lion Rebel regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lion Rebel last raced on 4 April 2017. A Karabitsakos stated that the greyhound was returning from an injured right hind toe.
A pre race sample was taken from Righto Mitch.
Canya Rousey and Moore Of Darcy collided soon after the start. Screaming Oaks and Lektra Damage collided approaching the first turn, checking Canya Rousey and Screaming Oaks. Lektra Damage checked off Dr. Gammiris on the first turn. Moore Of Darcy and Dr. Gammiris collided entering the home straight.
