A pre-race sample was taken from Beside The Truth.
Stellar Creek went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.
Galloping Leo crossed to the inside soon after the start and collided with Lucky Tetris. Beside The Truth and Zambora Idol collided approaching the first turn. Stellar Creek and Zambora Idol collided on the first turn, checking Zambora Idol. Fiery Melody and Lucky Tetris collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn, causing Lucky Tetris to fall. Galloping Leo checked off the heels of Zambora Idol in the back straight. Fiery Melody checked off the heels of Philo Bale on the home turn. Stellar Creek and Zambora Idol collided on the home turn.
Lucky Tetris was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right biceps femoris (thigh) muscle and abrasions to the right thigh, and scrotum. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
