Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Gray, the trainer of Why Not Trish regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Why Not Trish last raced on 25th March 2017. Mr. Gray stated that the greyhound was resuming to racing following an injury to the right hock.
A pre-race sample was taken from Acola Rosebud.
Why Not Trish was slow to begin. Loud Lana and Dargo Dasher collided soon after the start. Pia, Why Not Trish, Loud Lana and Dargo Dasher collided soon after the start, checking all four greyhounds. Acola Rosebud and Sachi collided soon after the start. Loud Lana and Acola Rosebud collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Why Not Trish checked off Pia on the first turn, checking Pia. Loud Lana and Acola Rosebud collided entering the back straight, checking Loud Lana. Why Not Sue and Sachi collided on the third turn.
Loud Lana was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Kearns, the trainer of Loud Lana, and reminded him of his obligations under rule 75(1) to contact Stewards on Monday the 3rd of July regarding the greyhound's recovery.
