Barellen Genie was a late scratching at 5.08pm by Order of Stewards after it was established that the greyhound was not presented for its engagement. At a subsequent inquiry, Trainer Mr C.Dyett was charged under GAR 86(o) with negligence. Mr Dyett pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $250.00. 

Don's Gas and Soho Silhouette were slow to begin. Lush Life checked off Miss Moggy soon after the start. Don's Tron and Don's Gas collided approaching the first turn. Mepunga Nyssa and Soho Silhouette collided approaching the first turn. Mepunga Nyssa galloped on the heels of Soho Silhouette on the first turn, checking Mepunga Nyssa, Don's Tron, Don's Gas and Lush Life, and causing Soho Silhouette to fall. Don's Gas and Mepunga Nyssa collided on the home turn. Bugler checked off Miss Moggy in the home straight.

Soho Silhouette was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr D.Geall trainer of Brave Innings regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Brave Innings last raced on 14 February 2017. Mr Geall stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a torn left achilles tendon.

Starbright Kate was quick to begin. Yolk's Boy was slow to begin. Crackerjack Man, Cool Al and Brave Innings collided soon after the start, checking Cool Al and Brave Innings. Yolk's Boy and Away We Go collided on the first turn, checking Yolk's Boy. Brave Innings brushed the running rail on the first turn.

More Moment was quick to begin. Jockey Bale, Fabivan, Arcup Usain and Maximum Jarvis collided soon after the start, checking Fabivan and Arcup Usain. Arcup Usain and Maximum Jarvis collided approaching the first turn. Call Me Ernie and Jockey Bale collided approaching the first turn. Call Me Ernie checked off Spirited Bingle on the first turn and collided with Jockey Bale. Pop Do It and Logistic Kid were slow to begin. Jackson's Girl, Kingsley Boy, Robyn's Boy, Logistic Kid, Barked Off and Billy Braavos collided on the first turn, checking Kingsley Boy and Barked Off, and severely checking Logistic Kid and Billy Braavos, both greyhounds fell as a result. Robyn's Boy raced wide on the home turn. 

Logistic Kid was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and right trapezius, and an abrasion to the head, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Billy Braavos was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal fracture to the left front leg, and was humanely euthanased.

A sample was taken from Don's Magic - the winner of the event.

Black Fields was a late scratching at 11.23am due to lameness in the left hind leg.(GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards spoke to Mr P. Osborn, trainer of Cordite Extra regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cordite Extra last raced on 24 January 2017. Mr. Osborn stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right shoulder injury.

Hardaway Outlaw and Alexanderia were quick to begin. Crackerjack Cam and James Beat Fed were slow to begin. Hardaway Outlaw and Alexanderia collided approaching the first turn.
