The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Steinbeck Knew and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:15am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. M. Chilcott was fined the sum of $100.

Dark Corgi, Nick and Gunmetal Angel collided soon after the start.  Jack's Lass and Songkran Odessa collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Claretown Happy and Nick collided on the first turn.  Claretown Happy and Gunmetal Angel collided approaching the home turn.  Claretown Happy and Jack's Lass collided several times on the home turn.

Songkran Odessa was vetted after event 6.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Claretown Boris, Boomer and Pyrenees Diva were quick to begin.  Lloyd Christmas checked off Zipping Faith soon after the start.  Super Ricky and Cas collided soon after the start.  Lloyd Christmas and Caitlin Louise collided approaching the first turn checking Caitlin Louise.  Lloyd Christmas and Cas collided on the first turn checking Cas.  Super Ricky checked off Cas on the home turn.  Caitlin Louise and Cas collided entering the home straight checking Caitlin Louise.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Monaghan, the handler of the greyhound Boomer and issued her with a warning regarding maintaining control of her greyhound after her greyhound became loose in the kennelling area prior to this event. 

Cas was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right front torn toenail.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Avatar Yappa, Erica McKenna and Why Not George were slow to begin.  Kim Kadash and Onya Grover collided on the first turn checking Avatar Yappa and Why Not George and severely checking Kim Kadash, Erica McKenna, Don's Collision and Kid Bobby; Onya Grover fell as a result.  Kim Kadash checked off Erica McKenna on the home turn.  Erica McKenna and Why Not George collided in the home straight.

Onya Grover was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkye muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Carr, the trainer of Parrot Is Loose regarding the greyhound's rise in distance.  Mr. Carr stated that the greyhound has had two trials at The Meadows in preperation for todays event. 

Pyrenees Dynasty was slow to begin.  Parrot Is Loose, Sisco Mama and General's Girl collided approaching the first turn checking Parrot Is Loose.  Sisco Mama, General's Girl, Lady Isabella and He's A Joker collided on the first turn checking General's Girl, Lady Isabella and He's A Joker.  Lady Isabella raced wide on the home turn.  Sisco Mama eased and crossed to the outside entering the home straight.  General's Girl, Parrot Is Loose and Lady Isabella raced wide in the home straight.  General's Girl and Pyrenees Dynasty collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Smith, the handler of the greyhound Sisco Mama regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.  Sisco Mama was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Sisco Mama with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Sisco Mama was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Balloon D'Or went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Lady Camelot and Tommy Tattle collided soon after the start checking Tommy Tattle.  Mad Mellman and Limiter Burst collided approaching the first turn checking Limiter Burst.  Loose Unit and Snow Bomber collided approaching the first turn checking Snow Bomber.  Tommy Tattle raced wide from the first turn to the home straight.  Balloon D'Or, Snow Bomber and Lady Camelot collided on the home turn checking Snow Bomber and Lady Camelot.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Z. Aleksov, the trainer of Big Roo Drew regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Big Roo Drew last raced on 19th December, 2015 and is returning to racing after being given time to mature. 

Mr. B. Gray, trainer of Another Camelot declared a new weight of 35.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Another Camelot last raced at 34.8kgs.

Jarleth was slow to begin.  Deadly Big Bird, Roarsome and Bluey Angel collided soon after the start checking Roarsome.  Deadly Big Bird checked off Roarsome on the first turn.  Bluey Angel checked off Funda Down on the first turn checking Another Camelot, Big Roo Drew and Jarleth.  Deadly Big Bird faltered in the back straight and tailed off as a result.  Big Roo Drew checked off Another Camelot on the second turn.  Big Roo Drew raced wide on the home turn.  

Deadly Big Bird was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Iza Comin' was slow to begin.  Bubsy John went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Sweet Lucy checked off Cool As Hell soon after the start.  Zero Care Factor and Cool As Hell collided approaching the first turn checking Cool As Hell and severely checking Magic Maldini, Regine and Foxy Fern.  Zero Care Factor and Sweet Lucy collided on the home turn, entering the home straight and again in the home straight.  Cool As Hell and Magic Maldini collided entering the home straight.  Regine raced wide in the home straight.

Magic Maldini was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left front toe and split webbing to its left hind foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. M. Chilcott, the handler of the greyhound Zero Care Factor regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.

Pee Dee, Just Run Left and Drizzle were slow to begin.  Delcorn Potts checked off Loosey Jabna soon after the start.  Pee Dee checked off Miss Lumens soon after the start.  Delcorn Potts, Pee Dee and Bonza Magic collided on the first turn checking Pee Dee and Bonza Magic.  Pee Dee and Bonza Magic collided approaching the home turn checking Bonza Magic.  Juda Lomar and Loosey Jabna raced wide entering the home straight.  Delcorn Potts checked off Miss Lumens entering the home straight.  Pee Dee checked off Delcorn Potts in the home straight.  Pee Dee eased in the home straight and collided with Delcorn Potts.  Miss Lumens and Loosey Jabna collided in the home straight.  Miss Lumens, Loosey Jabna and Just Run Left collided approaching the winning post.

Pee Dee was partially vetted following the event, due to a pre-race sample.  The veterinary surgeon was required to attend the sample, as a result Mr Tabb declined to have the greyhound vetted at a later stage. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Tabb, the representative of the greyhound Pee Dee regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Pee Dee with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Tabb pleaded guilty to the charge.  Pee Dee was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Patbill Dream, Five Mississippi and It's Burger Time were slow to begin.  Patchie Kaye and Suitress collided approaching the first turn checking Suitress. Patbill Dream checked off Five Mississippi on the first turn.  It's Burger Time galloped on the heels of Suitress on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Petite Ruby, Five Mississippi and Patchie Kaye collided approaching the home turn checking Petite Ruby and Five Mississippi.  It's Burger Time and Scotta Be Quick collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  It's Burger Time galloped on the heels of Petite Ruby on the home turn checking both greyhounds and causing both greyhounds to race wide as a result.  It's Burger Time and Scotta Be Quick collided in the home straight checking Scotta Be Quick.

Hensap Justine was a late scratching at 11:29am by order of the stewards. 

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry in the to circumstances surrounding the late scratching of Hensap Justine after the incorrect greyhound was presented at kennelling.

No Worries Buddy and Red Gold were quick to begin.  Act The Goat was slow to begin.  Act The Goat checked off Cullquin Jaymax soon after the start. Gaytime Magic checked off Cullquin Jaymax approaching the first turn.  Gaytime Magic galloped on the heels of Cullquin Jaymax on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  No Worries Buddy and Red Gold raced wide on the home turn.  Gaytime Magic checked off Cullquin Jaymax entering the home straight.  Act The Goat raced wide in the home straight.  No Worries Buddy and Rosie's Gift collided in the home straight.

Malarkey was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Mickevin, Motors Too Fast and My Sirion collided approaching the first turn checking Motors Too Fast.  Dusty's Magic crossed to the inside approaching the first turn severely checking Mickevin and My Sirion.  Malarkey checked off My Sirion approaching the home turn.  Motors Too Fast brushed the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground as a result.  Georga Girl and Dusty's Magic collided on the home turn checking Dusty's Magic and Hensap Hero.  Dusty's Magic checked off Hensap Hero entering the home straight.  Hensap Hero checked off My Sirion approaching the winning post.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Wynd, the trainer of Nawala Ginto regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Nawala Ginto last raced on 25th June 2015.  Mr. Wynd stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a back muscle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Nawala Ginto trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 26.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.30.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9 lengths.  Nawala Ginto was cleared.

Slipaway Anna trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 26.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.30.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths.  Slipaway Anna was cleared.

Magic Coups trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 7, weight 32.8kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.30. The greyhound won by a margin of 8 lengths.  Magic Coups was cleared.
