Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Go Speaross upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ral Ral upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Sleek Nitro was slow to begin. Ral Ral was very slow to begin (3L). Enola Gay and Go Speaross collided approaching the first turn, checking Go Speaross. Sunset Oasis and Mark's Boy collided on the first turn, checking Mark's Boy. Ral Ral checked off Sleek Nitro approaching the home turn, checking Ral Ral. Ral Ral cramped and faltered in the home straight.
Ral Ral was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping and split webbing to the left foreleg, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr L Mitchell, the trainer of the greyhound Ral Ral. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
Samples were taken from the placegetters - Sunset Oasis (1st), Mark's Boy (2nd) and Enola Gay (3rd).
