A pre-race sample was taken from Murrabit Betty upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre-race sample was taken from Yucatan upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Magic Karma was quick to begin. Murrabit Betty and Opera Oasis collided soon after the start, checking Opera Oasis. Magic Karma, Yucatan and Crusader collided on the first turn, checking Crusader and severely checking Yucatan. Opera Oasis checked off Murrabit Betty approaching the home turn and fell as a result. Magic Karma and Crusader collided approaching the home turn, checking Crusader.
Opera Oasis was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a radius fracture and elbow injury, and was humanely euthanised.
