Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Galea, the trainer of Lucas's Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lucas's Girl last raced on 31/01/16.  Mr. Galea stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a right hock injury.

The start of this event was delayed due a mal function with the Judge's equipment.

Motivate Her was quick to begin.  Belron Brum, Lucas's Girl, Why Not Will, Tilly Court and Benny The Jet collided soon after the start checking Lucas's Girl, Why Not Will and Tilly Court.  Omega Brittany, Lucas's Girl and Why Not Will collided on the first turn checking Omega Brittany.  Omega Brittany, Lucas's Girl and Why Not Will collided approaching the home turn checking Lucas's Girl.  Belron Brum and Benny The Jet collided approaching the home turn.  Omega Brittany checked off Belron Brum approaching the home turn.  Belron Brum and Benny The Jet collided on the home turn checking Belron Brum.

Roman Lad was quick to begin.  Wadelock Arky and Collinda Warrior were slow to begin.  Taabinga Lady, Carmyle, In The Trolley and Zipping Stu collided on the first turn.  Wadelock Arky and Dyna Kel collided on the first turn.  Taabinga Lady and Collinda Warrior collided approaching the second turn checking Taabinga Lady.  Taabinga Lady and Wadelock Arky collided on the second turn.  Carmyle and Collinda Warrior collided approaching the home turn checking Carmyle.  Taabinga Lady, Carmyle and Zipping Stu collided approaching the home turn.

Collinda Warrior was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the right hock, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Almani Fury was quick to begin.  Kilmany Flyer was slow to begin.  Almani Fury, Nat, Augustus Dagloop, Why Not Roy and Paua Hiking collided on the first turn checking Augustus Dagloop, Paua Hiking and Why Not Roy and causing Almani Fury to fall.  Why Not Roy galloped on Kilmany Flyer on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Augustus Dagloop raced wide on the home turn.

Almani Fury was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Belron Beale and Chase's Chance were slow to begin.  Lemon Paw, Dyna Parlance and Careless Cookie collided entering the back straight checking Dyna Parlance.  Danger Bale galloped on Kingston Earl entering the back straight checking Danger Bale, Oakmont Whisper and Belron Beale.

Wadelock Juliet, Why Not Jojo and Agent Alyssa were slow to begin.  Cowrie checked off Kiss My Fuji on the first turn.  Why Not Jojo checked off Cowrie on the home turn and collided with Wadelock Juliet severely checking Wadelock Juliet and Why Not Jojo.

Acting on a confirmed phone call from  Mr. G. Howell the trainer of Cut Loose Max, the greyhound was a late scratching at 16:05 due to vehicle break down.  Mr. Howell was fined $100, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards were advised by the kennel attendant, Mrs. V. Finne-Larsen, that she had observed Canino had vomited up a white coloured tablet when she was supervising the retrieval of the greyhound for racing prior to the event.  Stewards spoke to the trainer of the greyhound, Mr. C. Johannsen regarding the matter. After taking into consideration Mr. Johannsen's evidence Stewards collected the tablet for examination, and informed Mr. Johannsen that a sample would be taken from the greyhound following the race.

Beyond Galaxia, Leopardstown and Allen Jersey collided soon after the start.  Bubba's Silvia, Leopardstown and Beyond Galaxia collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Beyond Galaxia and Leopardstown collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn checking Leopardstown.  Allen Jersey and Bubba's Silvia collided approaching the second turn.  Leopardstown and Beyond Galaxia collided entering the back straight severely checking Beyond Galaxia.  Allen Jersey and She's A Collinda collided in the home straight.

Aston Sloan was quick to begin.  Magic Is Might and Sonny's Salute were slow to begin.  Aston Sloan, Red Cadillac and Tumble And Dry collided approaching the first turn checking Tumble And Dry and Tiger Rance. Tumble And Dry and Tiger Rance collided on the first turn.  Sonny's Salute, Tumble And Dry and Magic Is Might collided on the first turn checking Magic Is Might.  Aston Sloan and Tiger Rance collided on the first turn. Tumble And Dry raced wide on the home turn.  Aston Sloan checked off Compelling in the home straight.

Borris Delight was slow to begin.  Henry, Maverick Thunder, Aston Ryder, Jazzy Bale and Borris Delight collided approaching the first turn checking Borris Delight.  Henry galloped on Lonesome Katie on the first turn checking Lonesome Katie.  Henry checked off Bear's Gold approaching the home turn.  Aston Ryder checked off Borris Delight approaching the home turn.  Lonesome Katie and Borris Delight collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Henry and Jazzy Bale collided on the home turn.

Dagwood was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left and right back muscles and the left and right triangle muscles, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Jones, the trainer of Girthy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Girthy last raced on 17/02/16.  Mr. Jones stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being seasonal.

Zelemar Zest was slow to begin.  Andiamo Neo was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Ripper, Spritely, Andiamo Neo, Zelemar Zest and Half Way There collided on the first turn checking Spritely, Zelemar Zest and Half WayThere.  Andiamo Neo and Girthy collided approaching the home turn.  Ripper and Zelemar Zest collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Star's Big Boy was quick to begin.  Parkfield Shower and Amlin Jewel were slow to begin.  Family Rules, Sheldon Rose, Simply Mystic and Diamond Ed collided soon after the start checking Sheldon Rose.  Amlin Jewel, Family Rules, Simply Mystic and Diamond Ed collided on the first turn checking Family Rules.  Amlin Jewel and Simply Mystic collided approaching the home turn checking Amlin Jewel.  Simply Mystic checked off Diamond Ed approaching the home turn.

Maverick Dusty and Logic Lad were slow to begin.  Maverick Flash, Why Not Logan and Zonda Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Why Not Logan.  Eduardo Rose, Maverick Flash and Zonda Bale collided on the first turn severely checking Maverick Flash and Wrong Given Way.  Why Not Logan checked off Zonda Bale approaching the home turn.  Why Not Logan raced wide on the home turn and collided with Maverick Dusty checking both greyhounds.  Zonda Bale and Logic Lad collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Zonda Bale was vetted following the event after showing signs of cramp in the catching pen.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial results - Lakeview Luke trialled over the 440m from box 1, weight 32.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.77, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.25 lengths. Lakeview Luke was Cleared.

Satisfactory Weight Trial - Black Train trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 34.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.77, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25 lengths.  Black Train was Cleared.
