Steward's Report
Denouement was slow to begin. Loco Larico stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Dashing Magic and Dynamite Dozer collided soon after the start. Cullquin Rocky and Dynamite Dozer collided at the 300m mark. Donkey Tron and Dashing Magic collided at the 300m mark. Dashing Magic, Cullquin Rocky and Dynamite Dozer collided approaching the 250m mark. Rusty Cove eased at the 250m mark. Denouement eased approaching the 200m mark and again several times from the 100m mark until the winning post.
A sample was taken from Donkey Tron - the winner of the event.
Denouement was vetted following the event, after being re-vetted following race 4, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Rusty Cove was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Representative J Magri declined the stewards offer of re-vetting the greyhound.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J Magri, the representative of the greyhound Rusty Cove regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 250m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Rusty Cove with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Magri pleaded guilty to the charge, Rusty Cove was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
