A pre race sample was taken from Napalm. 

Nila Bale was quick to begin. Next Grange went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

What's To Like, Mr. Stealer and Cash And Co collided soon after the start checking What's to Like and Mr. Stealer. What's To Like checked off Cash And Co on the first turn. Napalm checked off Sierra on the first turn. Sierra and She's Dee Rocket collided on the first turn checking She's Dee Rocket, Mr. Stealer and Cash And Co. Next Grange and What's To Like collided on the home turn checking What's To Like, She's Dee Rocket and Sierra. Cash And Co and What's To Like collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Sierra eased approaching the winnng post. 

Nila Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Sierra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both hamstrings. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Dailly, the handler of the greyhound Sierra regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Sierra with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Sierra was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
