Steward's Report

Argyle Lucifer was quick to begin. 

Interlaken and Menindee collided soon after the start checking Interlaken. Hone In and Smart Judo collided soon after the start. Hone In, Perfect Rider, Proven Malibu, Receptive, Interlaken and Menindee collided approaching the first turn checking all greyhounds. Smart Judo eased approaching the first turn. Interlaken and Menindee collided on the first turn checking Menindee, Receptive and Hone In. Perfect Rider checked off Interlaken approaching the home turn. Menindee checked off Perfect Rider approaching the home turn checking Receptive. Receptive raced wide entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to A Dailly, the handler of the greyhound Smart Judo regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Smart Judo was vetted and re-vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left hamstring, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Smart Judo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Daily pleaded guilty to the charge, Smart Judo was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
