Iconic Chief and Ella Rhode collided soon after the start, checking Iconic Chief. Swazza's Rocket and Mega Jewels collided approaching the first turn. French Affair checked off Go Vicki on the first turn and collided with Swazza's Rocket, severely checking French Affair, Swazza's Rocket and Lega Jewels. Swazza's Rocket and Mega Jewels raced wide in the home straight.
Swazza's Rocket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right back leg. No stand down period was imposed.
