Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Jesse's Jet engaged in this event on 9 May, 2016 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre race sample was taken from Miss Utamurra.
Jesse's Jet was slow to begin. Solar Rapid and Cinquedea collided approaching the first turn, checking Cinquedea. Burnsy's Sam, Cinquedea and Won Wron Flyer collided on the first turn, checking Cosmic Coad, Burnsy's Sam, Jesse's Jet, Cinquedea, Miss Utamurra and Won Wron Flyer. Solar Rapid and Rusty Boy collided several times from the first turn until the home turn, checking Solar Rapid, Cinquedea and Burnsy's Sam. Cosmic Coad checked off Rusty Boy entering the hoem straight, checking Solar Rapid and Cinquedea. Jesse's Jet and Won Wron Flyer collided approaching the winning post.
Solar Rapid was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to E Johannsen, the representative of Beyond Today regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Beyond Today last raced on 13 September 2015. E Johannsen stated that the greyhound was returning from an injured left front toe. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Beyond Today trialled over the 311m from box 1, weight 31.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.23, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.25 lengths. Beyond Today was cleared.
