Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Sunday Sess engaged in this event on 9 May, 2016 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre race sample was taken from Fear The Boss.
Kokoda Eclipse, Andy Jay, Wino Waves and Tell Me Ma were slow to begin. Kokoda Eclipse checked off Wino Waves approaching the second turn. Lopsided checked off Fear The Boss in the back straight. Lazza Mikado and Fear The Boss collided approaching the home turn. Lopsided, Tell Me Ma and Sunday Sess collided on the home turn. Tell Me Ma veered out and marred Lopsided in the home straight.
A sample was taken from Kokoda Eclipse - the winner of the event.
Lopsided was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Tell Me Ma was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to J Carr, the trainer of the greyhound Tell Me Ma regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Tell Me Ma with marring. J Carr pleaded guilty guilty to the charge, Tell Me Ma was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
