The start of this event was delayed by 1 1/2 minutes due to a Kempsey Thoroughbred race.
Pursuant to 104(6) Kennel Attendant Ms. E. Delios did not act in any official capacity for this event.
A pre race sample was taken from Another Value.
Another Value was slow to begin. Scary Sister and Le Doyen collided soon after the start checking Le Doyen, Special Member and Another Value. Special Member and Another Value collided on the first turn. Le Doyen and Special Member collided on the first turn checking Special Member. Busta Voe, Flywheel Magic and Cruella Deville collided on the first turn checking Cruella Deville and Flywheel Magic. Flywheel Magic, Soda Storm and Cruella Deville collided in the back straight checking Cruella Deville and Scary Sister. Soda Storm checked off Flywheel Magic on the home turn. Special Member eased on the home turn checking Cruella Deville.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Hill, the trainer of the greyhound Special Member regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Special Member was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Special Member with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hill pleaded not guilty to the charge, Special Member was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
