Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Tills Henry.
Giroud was slow to begin. Tills Henry, Black Odessa and Dr. Luvdisc collided soon after the start. Tills Henry and Black Odessa collided approaching the first turn severely checking Black Odessa which subsequently tailed off. Wilbur checked off Dr. Luvdisc on the first turn. Wilbur and Shanks Very Much collided on the first turn. Tills Henry and Dr. Luvdisc colided on the first turn. Tills Henry and Wilbur collided approaching the home turn. Harvey Leigh checked off Tills Henry entering the home straight.
Black Odessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. Terry declined the option to have the greyhound re vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Terry, the trainer of the greyhound Black Odessa regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Black Odessa with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Terry pleaded guilty to the charge. Black Odessa was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Bailey, the trainer of Magic Seal regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Magic Seal last raced on 20th June, 2016. Mr. Bailey stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a fractured left shoulder. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Magic Seal trialled over the 315m from box 1, weight 26.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18:46, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25 lengths. Magic Seal was Cleared.
