Tucky's Daughter, Sunset Queen and Zipping Foy were slow to begin. Alyssa Rose and Tucky's Daughter collided soon after the start checking Tucky's Daughter. Tucky's Daughter, Sunset Queen and Do Looks Count collided approaching the first turn checking Do Looks Count. Zipping Foy crossed to the outside in the back straight and raced wide. My Girl Lois and Nanny's Poppy collided approaching the second turn checking My Girl Lois. Tucky's Daughter was checked off Nanny's Poppy approaching the home turn checking My Girl Lois and Ann Cherie. Sunset Queen marred Alyssa Rose entering the home straight.
Alyssa Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Bean the trainer of the greyhound Sunset Queen regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Sunset Queen with marring. Mr. Bean pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sunset Queen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
