Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Bolare.
Swift Fozz and Arctic Blaze were slow to begin.
Miss Twerker and Princess Briana collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark. Princess Briana and Blue Sky Babe collided at the 250m mark. Princess Briana crossed to the rail at the 200m mark, checking Miss Twerker. Swift Fozz and Princess Briana collided at the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds. Swift Fozz, Miss Twerker and Princess Briana collided at the 50m mark. Miss Twerker marred Princess Briana at the 50m mark.
Miss Twerker was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Calven Russell, the trainer of the greyhound Miss Twerker, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Miss Twerker with marring. Mr Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Twerker was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
