Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Exford Lumpy upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling. Pre-race samples were taken from Callaway and Dodge Ball.
Black Star Alert went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Callaway, Jaso and Exford Lumpy were slow to begin.
Exford Lumpy and Dodge Ball collided soon after the start. Callaway and Jaso collided at the 250m mark. Dodge Ball and Zinda Neveelk collided at the 200m mark. Black Star Alert, Jaso and Zinda Neveelk collided at the 150m mark, checking Black Star Alert. Exford Lumpy and Zinda Neveelk collided approaching the winning post.
Jaso was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the front feet. A three-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Batten, the handler of Dodge Ball and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding his tardiness in boxing the greyhound, pursuant to GAR 51(9).
Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin McMahon, the handler of Kathy's Lady and reminded him of his responsibilities after he failed to follow the starters directions when boxing the greyhound, pursuant to GAR 51(10)(a).
Stewards spoke to Ms Jan Brooks, the trainer-handler of Dane Daisy and reminded her of her responsibilities after she failed to follow the starters directions when boxing the greyhound, pursuant to GAR 51(10)(a).
