Charlotte Allen and Paints A Story were quick to begin.

Castilleja and Teggernaut collided soon after the start, checking Teggernaut. Charlotte Allen and Paints A Story collided approaching the first turn, checking Charlotte Allen. Castilleja brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Charlotte Allen checked off Take The Rapid on the first turn. Take The Rapid and Castilleja collided on the home turn. El Grand Knocka checked off Paints A Story entering the home straight. Charlotte Allen and Take The Rapid collided in the early part of the home straight. Charlotte Allen eased in the home straight and collided with Take The Rapid. Charlotte Allen and Take The Rapid collided approaching the winning post. Wishes Fulfilled and Paints A Story collided approaching the winning post, checking Wishes Fulfilled.

Stewards spoke to Mr Marcus Lloyd, the trainer of the greyhound Charlotte Allen, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Charlotte Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist and right hip; a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Charlotte Allen with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Lloyd pleaded guilty to the charge, Charlotte Allen was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
