Steward's Report
Nangar Range was a scratching in this Event by Order Of Stewards (GAR79A (3)(a)).
Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) Stewards were notified by Racing Analytical Services Limited on 29/5/2017 that a pre race urine sample taken from the greyhound Nangar Range at Sandown GRC meeting conducted on 20 April 2017 was shown to contain the the Permanantly Banned Prohibited Substances Amphetamine, 4-Hydroxyamphetamine, Methamphetamine and 4-Hydroxymethamphetamine.
Acting in accordance with GAR 79A (3)(a), the greyhound was withdrawn from tonight's event and pursuant to GAR 79A(3)(b), the greyhound shall be ineligible to be nominated for any further event until such time a sample taken from the greyhound does not breach GAR 79A.
As per normal procedure the greyhound's Trainer Mr. G. Schofield was advised of this finding, and a similar finding in the greyhound Nangar Tiger, during a kennel inspection at his property on 1 June 2017. The reserve and control samples are yet to be analysed.
An out of competition sample was taken from Nangar Range, scratched from this event, on 1 June 2017, pursuant to GAR 79A.
Scarecrow Max was slow to begin and checked off Duna Runa soon after the start. Elite Shiraz and Duna Runa collided on the first turn. Duna Runa crossed to the rail in the back straight checking She's Got Grace which collided with Dewana Express as a result. She's Got Grace checked off Dewana Express on the home turn. She's Got Grace and Duna Runa collided in the home straight.
Samples were taken from the following placegetters: Lucky Tetris (1st) and Dewana Express (2nd).
