Stewards spoke to Ms J. Riley, the handler of Apple Cyder regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Apple Cyder last raced on 16/12/2016.Ms Riley stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell.

A pre-race sample was taken from Robs Rocket.

Robs Rocket and Riclesky were slow to begin.

Always Alone and Mr. Pendles collided soon after the start.  Cosmic Fox and Riclesky collided on the first turn and both raced wide.  Always Alone and Where's Marcia collided on the first turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ellen's Stardust.

Ellen's Stardust was quick to begin.  He Shall Peter was very slow to begin (3lengths).

Short Blond Hair and Ellen's Stardust collided soon after the start checking Short Blond Hair which stumbled.   Newfire Chelle and Ernie's Legacy collided on the first turn checking Newfire Chelle.  Ernie's Legacy, Stilton Johnny, Short Blond Hair and Pistol collided on the home turn checking Short Blond Hair and severely checking Ernie's Legacy.

Short Blond Hair was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left calf abrasion, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Newfire Drewie.

Redefined was quick to begin.  Irinka Cheryl was slow to begin.

Mini Dozer, Irinka Cheryl and Queen Dunroaming collided approaching the first turn checking Mini Dozer and Irinka Cheryl, causing Coolan Man to clip the heels of Mini Dozer which stumbled and fell. Redefined and Newfire Drewie collided on the home turn.

Coolan Man was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, right hind foot abrasion and right front foot spike wound, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr R. Palmer, trainer of Cosmic Tilly declared a new weight of 27.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cosmic Tilly last raced at 29.1kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Hetty.

Zipping Hetty was slow to begin.

Nice Work, Bombastic Tim, Sorry Maurie and Latifi Nick Nack collided soon after the start checking Sorry Maurie.  Lady Ching checked off Cosmic Tilly approaching the first turn.  Bombastic Tim checked off Zipping Hetty on the first turn and collided with Nice Work checking Bombastic Tima and Nice Work, Sorry Maurie raced wide as a result.  Latifi Nick Nack checked off Lady Ching on the first turn. Nice Work and Latifi Nick Nack collided in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Lady Ching checked off Zippy Lynet in the back straight.  Zipping Hetty and Zippy Lynet collided on the third turn checking Zippy Lynet.  Latifi Nick Nack checked off Sorry Mauire on the third turn.

Villa Jemma checked off Argyle Lucifer on the first turn.  Villa Jemma and Canino collided on the first turn. Lemon Paw and Canino collided in the back straight causing Villa Jemma and Canino to race wide.  Lemon Paw and Canino collided on the third turn checking Lemon Paw, Canino and Paddles Anderson.  Canino and Paddles Anderson collided entering the home straight.

Enchanted Lass was a scratching (Stewards permission) on the 30/5/2017 due to family illness.

A pre-race sample was taken from Go Levi.

Jimmy Vella was slow to begin.

Jimmy Vella galloped on Le Sands soon after the start checking Jimmy Vella.  Tweedle Dee, Go Levi and Adam Handler collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Tweedle Dee and Go Levi collided several times from the first turn through to the home turn checking Go Levi.

Zipping Bronze, Fearless Swan and Why Not Sue were quick to begin.

Freedom Fire and Division Four collided soon after the start.  Zipping Bronze and Fearless Swan collided on the second turn checking Fearless Swan.  Freedom Fire checked off Why Not Sue on the second turn.  Argyle Bonnie and Freedom Fire collided approaching the winning post. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Doused In Mud.

Doused In Mud, Allen Unther and Coffee Boy were quick to begin. Light The Track, Shall She Cindy, My Echidna and Destini Montana were slow to begin.

Shall She Cindy checked off Purple Hand soon after the start. Destini Montana, My Echidna and Shall She Cindy collided on the first turn. Destini Montana checked off Shall She Cindy several times approaching the second turn checking My Echidna. Coffee Boy and Allen Unther collided on the second turn. Light The Track and Coffee Boy collided approaching the home turn checking Light The Track. Doused In Mud and Shall She Cindy collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Charlie Pirotta and Witness (Mr C. Kass, Mr P. Borradale, Ms J. McDonald and Mr P. Leonard), Stewards subsequently charged Mr Pirotta with a breach of GAR48 in that he failed to be in attendance at the catching pen prior to this event for the purpose of catching the greyhound Allen Unther. Mr Pirotta pleaded not guilty to the charge, after considering the evidences including Mr Pirotta previous histroy,  Stewards found Mr Pirotta guilty as charged and fined him $100.00.

A pre-race sample was taken from Orange Blossom.

Chief Mingo, Peta Sketa and Really Magic collided on the first turn checking Really Magic.  Slick Diamond and Chief Mingo collided on the first turn checking Chief Mingo.  Orange Blossom and Shooters Echo collided approaching the home turn.  Nellie's Lad and Crickets Dash collided on the home turn.  Chief Mingo galloped on Orange Blossom on the home turn checking Chief Mingo and severely checking Orange Blossom which stumbled as a result.  Nellie's Lad and Crickets Dash collided entering the home straight.  Peta Sketa and Nellie's Lad collided approaching the winning post.

Nellie's Lad was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hamstring injury and left stopper abrasion, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Lemon Chicken.

Canya Rousey was slow to begin.

Canya Rousey galloped on Gee Callan soon after the start checking Canya Rousey.  Tekki Lightning checked off My Names Rhonda approaching the first turn.  Gee Callen checked off Emily's Kitty approaching the first turn.  Canya Rousey and Gee Callan collided on the home turn.  Tekki Lightning, Ebony Sprite and Gee Callan collided on the home turn.  Tekki Lightning and My Names Rhonda collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr C. Kas, the trainer of Premo Potion regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Premo Potion last raced on 8/2/2017.  Mr Kas stated that the greyhound was returning from a right hock injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr P. Goold, the trainer of Addictive Bryce regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Addictive Bryce last raced on 21/12/2016. Mr Goold stated that the greyhound was returning from a left front toe injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Booma Mikado.

Mini Tron, Addictive Bryce and Lucky's Spirit were slow to begin.  Rozehill Beth, Jetmag Ink and Booma Mikado collided approaching the first turn checking Rozehill Beth.  Jetmag Ink, Booma Mikado and Lucky's Spirit collided on the first turn checking Jetmag Ink severely checking Booma Mikado and Lucky's Spirit, Lucky's Spirit fell as a result.  Addictive Bryce race wide approaching the home turn.  Rozehill Beth and Addictive Bryce collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Booma Mikado was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind Achilles spike wound, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Lucky's Spirit was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
