Steward's Report
Mr. A. Kleeven, trainer of Bolta Neveelk declared a new weight of 31.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bolta Neveelk last raced at 32.9Kgs.
A pre race sample was taken from Botanic Lass.
Botanic Lass was quick to begin. Bloke's Advice and What's Her Name were slow to begin. Bolta Neveelk raced wide soon after the start checking What's Her Name and Zipping Penny. Surfin' Caity eased on the first turn. What's Her Name checked off Zipping Penny approaching the home turn. Botanic Lass and Omega Vera collided approaching the home turn.
Surfin' Caity was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder joint injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Holden, the trainer of the greyhound Surfin' Caity regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), the stewards charged Surfin' Caity with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Holden pleaded guilty to the charge, Surfin' Caity was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
