Buzz Rash and Laurentide Ice were quick to begin.  Zipping Moore, Dreamtime Storm, Magic Muzza and Killara John were slow to begin.  Siver Lightning was checked off Laurentide Ice soon after the start.  It's A Lie, Siver Lightning, Magic Muzza and Killara John collided on the first turn checking Siver Lightning, Magic Muzza and Killara John.  Killara John was checked off Magic Muzza in the back straight.  Magic Muzza was checked off Siver Lightning approaching the home turn checking Killara John.

Shamus Mac was slow to begin.  Do Looks Count, Lisa Pizza, Shogun Sammy and Dreamtime Vision collided on the first turn checking Do Looks Count, Blue Cat Wombat and I'm Neegan and severely checking Lisa Pizza and Shogun Sammy.  Shogun Smmy and Dreamtime Vision collided entering the back straight checking Shogun Sammy and severely checking Lisa Pizza which lost ground.

Lisa Pizza was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind foot, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

So Easy was a late scratching at 5.50pm  on Veterinary advice (GAR 37) (fleas).  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.

Six Heights was quick to begin.  Sisco Knight, Mella Moo and Runnin' Backward were slow to begin.  Lady Scrumptious, Money Dud, Mella Moo and Sisco Knight collided soon after the start checking Sisco Knight and Money Dud and severley checking Mella Moo.  Lady Scrumptious and Six Heights collided approaching the second turn.  Lady Scrumptious and Pink Floyd collided entering the home straight.  Mella Moo and Runnin' Backward collided in the home straight.

Taabinga Lady was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Taking Flight and Dr. Kestrel were slow to begin.  Taabinga Sprite, Zipping Paris and Yuken Duet collided soon after the start.  Indi Allen, Yuken Duet and Hollywood Jones collided approaching the first turn.  Taabinga Sprite and Zipping Paris collided approaching the first turn.  Yuken Duet and Hollywood Jones collided on the first turn checking Become The Fuse and Yuken Duet.  Become The Fuse and Taabinga Sprite collided in the back straight. Taabinga Sprite galloped on Zipping Paris on the third turn severely checking Taking Flight and Taabinga Sprite and checking Become The Fuse.  Indi Allen was checked off Hollywood Jones on the home turn.

Scoota Flash was a late scratching at 6.00pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. E. Lieshout the trainer of Aston Noir declared a new weight of 29.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Aston Noir last raced at 30.3kg.

Retention was slow to begin.  Dr. Bodacious and Tub's Tiger collided soon after the start.  Hardaway Outlaw and Dr. Bodacious collided on the first turn. Dr. Bodacious and Tub's Tiger collided on the first turn checking Tub's Tiger. Tub's Tiger and Hardaway Outlaw collided on the second turn. Dr. Bodacious and Tub's Tiger collided entering the home straight checking Dr. Bodacious.

A sample was taken from Why Not JoJo - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Grenfell the representative of Xavier's Mate regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Xavier's Mate last raced on 06/01/17.  Mr. Grenfell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left shoulder injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Show Bag Carter.

Pristina Lad and Walmac collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Busta Voe and Show Bag Carter collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Paua Hiking was checked off Xavier's Mate entering the back straight.  Pristina Lad and Paua Hiking collided in the back straight checking Paua Hiking.  Paua Hiking and Dr. Simon collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Show Bag Carter clipped the heels of Paua Hiking on the second turn checking Show Bag Carter and Busta Voe.  Show Bag Carter crossed out approaching the home turn checking Busta Voe.

Cigars On Ice was quick to begin.  Cigars On Ice, Spirited Quality and Tweedle Dee collided approaching the first turn checking Spirited Quality.  Nellie's Lad and Shanks Very Much collided approaching the first turn severely checking Shanks Very Much.  Tweedle Dee was checked off Cigars On Ice on the first turn..  Nellie's Lad crossed out approaching the home turn severely checking Mystic Quality and Dynamo Magic.  Tweedle Dee was checked off Mystic Quality approaching the home turn.  Nellie's Lad eased and collided with Go Levi in the home straight checking Go Levi.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Baker the trainer of the greyhound Nellie's Lad regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Nellie's Lad was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind leg, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Nellie's Lad with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Baker pleaded guilty to the charge, Nellie's Lad was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Hall the trainer of Pawfection regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Pawfection last raced on 09/02/17.  Mrs. Hall stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.

A pre-race sample was taken from King Mischief.

Pawfection was quick to begin.Pawfection crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Booma Mikado and Bandit Brad.  Zipping Frank and Bandit Brad collided in the back straight checking King Mischief.  Booma Mikado and Pawfection collided on the home turn checking Booma Mikado.

King Mischief was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right shoulder joint, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
