Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Peninsula Lady.
Cosmic Breeze, Baker Street, Big Tilly and Jamie's Rocket were slow to begin. Baker Street and Jamie's Rocket collided soon after the start. Matchstick Girl and Magic Muzza collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark, checking Matchstick Girl. Peninsula Lady and Big Tilly collided at the 300m mark, checking Jamie's Rocket. Matchstick Girl checked off Magic Muzza approaching the 250m mark. Big Tilly checked off Peninsula Power at the 250m mark. Blue Odessa eased approaching the 200m mark and again at the 200m mark. Big Tilly and Magic Muzza collided at the 200m mark.
Stewards spoke to K Stephens, the trainer of the greyhound Blue Odessa regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching and at the 200m mark. Blue Odessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right quadriceps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Blue Odessa with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). K Stephens pleaded guilty to the charge, Blue Odessa was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
