Acting on a confirmed phone call from Mr G.Walker, trainer of Pocket Dial, stating that he had experienced a car breakdown, Stewards  ordered the withdrawal of the greyhound at 1.08pm.

Sisco Rocco was slow to begin. Tiza Fabio was slow to begin and took no competative part in the event, and subsequently tailed off. Derivation and South Of Eden collided approaching the first turn. Spritney Beers, Sisco Rocco and Amber's Romance collided on the first turn, checking Sisco Rocco and Amber's Romance. Sisco Rocco checked off Derivation in the home straight. Tiza Fabio was vetted and revetted following event four. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the neck and back muscles, as well as injuries to the left deltoid and left chest muscle, a fourteen day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Chilcott, the handler of the greyhound Tiza Fabio.  Stewards deemed the performance of Tiza Fabio unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Tiza Fabio must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr S.Curtain, the representative of Bluehawk Ralph regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bluehawk Ralph last raced on 31 January 2017.Mr Curtain stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an injury caused by a grass seed which resulted in an abcess being formed.

Bluehawk Ralph, Katlin, and So Amazing collided soon after the start. Nice Work checked off Certain Smile approaching the first turn. Gateway To Eden and Certain Smile collided approaching the first turn. Deflection, Bluehawk Ralph and Katlin collided on the first turn. Gateway To Eden and So Amazing collided on the first turn, checking Gateway To Eden and severely checking So Amazing. Delfection and So Amazing collided on the second turn. Nice Work checked off Lockrod on the home turn and again in the home straight. Deflection and Bluehawk Ralph collided several times in the home straight.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Roman's Legend engaged in this event on 13.5.2017 pursuant to GAR 79.

Roman's Legend was slow to begin. Kate's Intention and Renew collided on the first turn, checking Roman's Legend. Roman's Legend checked off Too Fly Man on the second turn. Kate's Intention eased approaching the third turn. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. O'NeIll, the trainer of the greyhound Kate's Intention regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the third turn.  Kate's Intention was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and both deltoid muscles, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kate's Intention with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. O'NeIll pleaded not guilty to the charge, Kate's Intention was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

You Bug Me and Oppie Bale were quick to begin. Dr. Condor was slow to begin. Noosa Parade and Aston Hodge collided soon after the start, checking Dr. Condor.
