Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Slipaway Whitey.
Nicky Jo and Coringel Ebony were slow to begin.
Miss Skye High checked off Furious Fear approaching the first turn. Nicky Jo galloped on the heels of Miss Skye High approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Furious Fear eased approaching the home turn and collided with Toby's Taxi, checking Toby's Taxi. Nicky Jo galloped on the heels of Darley Dollar approaching the home turn checking Darley Dollar, Toby's Taxi and Miss Skye High. Slipaway Whitey checked off Coringel Ebony on the home turn. Furious Fear eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking Coringel Ebony and Slipaway Whitey. Furious Fear checked off Nicky Jo in the home straight, checking Don One and Toby's Taxi. Furious Fear and Nicky Jo collided approaching the winning post.
Furious Fear was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left infra spinatus and deltoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Punshon, the handler of the greyhound Furious Fear regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and entering the home straight. Furious Fear was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left infra spinatus and deltoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Furious Fear with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Punshon pleaded guilty to the charge, Furious Fear was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
