A pre race sample was taken from Heineken Girl.
King Of Sunshine was quick to begin.
Rosie's Gift and Sally's Cookie collided approaching the first turn checking Rosie's Gift. Heineken Girl and Razzle Oak collided approaching the first turn checking Heineken Girl. Sally's Cookie faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. King Of Sunshine and Golden Blaze collided in the home straight checking Spring Alis.
Sally's Cookie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound and quadriceps injury to the right hind leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr B. Buckingham, the trainer of Cosmic Bay regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Cosmic Bay last raced on 13/10/2016. Mr. Buckingham stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a back injury and extended spell . Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cosmic Bay trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 28.9kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was22.44, the greyhound won by a margin of 4L. Cosmic Bay was cleared.
Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) - Kentucky Sun trialled over the 390m from box1, weight 33.1kg. The time of the trial was 22.64, Kentucky Sun was cleared.
