Bad Size was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury and trainer, Mr Gary Sciortino, declined to have the greyhound revetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Sciortino, the trainer of the greyhound Bad Size regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 250m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Bad Size with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Sciortino pleaded guilty to the charge, Bad Size was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms Patti Ladd, the trainer of Miss Houdini, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miss Houdini last raced on 7 November 2016 and is returning after an injury to the right dew claw.

Ms Ladd, trainer of Miss Houdini, declared a new weight of 29.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miss Houdini last raced at 27.9kg.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Peace On Earth; a post-race sample was subsequently collected.

Miss Houdini was quick to begin. Alyssa Rose was slow to begin.

Phil Miyoot, Boloney Club and Shiro were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Kerrie's One and Hide The Wallet collided several times between the 50m mark and the winning post.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Alan Maram regarding his failure to catch the greyhound Rover at the conclusion of this event.

Stewards noted that soon after the start, the lure became further ahead of the leading greyhounds than the required distance. Stewards were of the opinion that this did not affect the outcome of the race, GAR 55(1). Stewards spoke to lure driver, Mr T Adamson, who advised that he had little experience driving the lure at the Healesville track. Stewards noted his explanation and forwarded the matter to the appropriate persons.

Mendacious Lad went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Okay Alpha was also slow to begin.

Fly As One was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal sprain to the left hock. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Tommy Two, Rose Of Dyanna and Fancy Bounce collided soon after the start. Tommy Two crossed to the outside soon after the start, severely checking Rose Of Dyanna.
