A pre-race sample was taken from Dodge The Cop.
Redfin Fozz was slow to begin. Burrawonga Betoo and All Inn Piper collided soon after the start and approaching the first turn. Onto Jatt and Oshkosh Jay collided on the first turn. Kingsley Boy and Proven Mona collided on the first turn. Onto Jatt, Oshkosh Jay and All Inn Piper collided on the first turn, checking All Inn Piper and Oshkosh Jay. Redfin Fozz and All Inn Piper collided in the home straight.
All Inn Piper was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dislocated left toe, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr G Edwards, the trainer of Grooven Chris, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Grooven Chris last raced on 12 July 2016. Mr Edwards stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change in kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Grooven Chris trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 32.0 kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22:45, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.25 lengths. Grooven Chris was Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Paula's Delight trialled over the 390m from box five, weight 25.5 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22:45, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.25 lengths. Paula's Delight was Cleared.
