Steward's Report
Man Down was a late scratching at 1:24 pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr E Hamilton was fined the sum of $100.
Stewards spoke to Mr T Monaghan, the trainer of Benny's Promise, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Benny's Promies last raced on 8 December 2016. Mr Monaghan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season and left shoulder injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Benny's Promise.
Diyas stumbled soon after box rise. Benny's Promise, Unlikable and Pyramid Flyer collided approaching the first turn. Benny's Promise and Pyramid Flyer collided on the first turn. Unlikable and Our Spirit collided approaching the home turn. Our Spirit and Unlikable collided in the home straight. Bletchley raced wide in the home straight.
Diyas was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
